Welcome to The Mint
At Mint Valley, you’ll find one of Washington’s finest public golf courses — a par 71 championship course designed to challenge every skill level.
The well-bunkered greens, water hazards, and tall trees test every golfer. Playing 6,432 yards from the back tees (5,230 yards forward), the greens are consistently fast and in excellent condition.
Mint Valley also features practice putting and chipping greens plus a covered driving range. For a quick round, our six-hole par 3 course (50–90 yards per hole) is perfect for tuning your short game or introducing new players to golf.

The Mint: A Special Place to Play
I can remember it clearly… Thirty-eight years ago, Mint Valley Golf Course held its grand opening dedication tournament. International golf course designer Ron Freem had transformed 130 acres of mint fields into what would become one of Southwest Washington’s most fun and challenging 18-hole public courses. That day, 125 excited golfers put our course to the test — and the response was overwhelmingly positive!
But the next day? Joe McLaughlin, my only assistant, and I waited for the crowds… and waited. A few curious locals came out — plaid shirts, suspenders, cork boots — willing to pay $5.50 and borrow rental clubs. By mid-afternoon, we locked up and went golfing ourselves (every pro’s secret wish).
It was clear: we needed to grow the game. We started by teaching beginners, forming men’s and ladies’ associations, and hosting first-class tournaments. We advertised with coupon discounts, drew crowds to our covered driving range, and made our Mint Valley Burgers famous. Our junior golf program — complete with etiquette lessons and fun contests — became one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
Today, Mint Valley is no longer a secret. Golfers rave daily about the course’s beauty, playability, and value. Come see for yourself why the “Mint” is truly a special place to play.
